PRODUCT DESCRIBTION
Introduction:
Lichens are colourful - greens, greys, oranges and yellows are common colours. They are widespread and long-lived.It is estimated that 6% of Earth's land surface is covered by lichen. Lichens are not a single organism like plants, animals or fungi. Instead every single lichen is the result of two or more separate organisms living permanently together. All lichens are made up of a fungal partner and either/or an algal partner or a cyanobacterium partner, or both.
Lichens are useful as food, medicine, for making dyes, in perfume manufacture, as decorations and in science. Medicinally Lichens have probably been used by many early civilisations. Research is still active into the use of several other lichen products as anti-viral and anti-fungal agents.
Functions:
Nutritionally, lichens contain practically no fat and only 1-5% protein. They are basically carbohydrate.
1. Lower Cholesterol;
2. Weight loss;
3. Pain relief;
4. Fever control;
5. Wound healing.
Applications:
Due to it's antimicrobial. It can be widely applied in personal care and cosmetics, such as deodorants; Moisturizing creams and lotions, cleaners, toners and astringents.
